From your Alumni Coordinator...
Welcome to your Alumni Association. During the summer of 1979, (which was my
first summer as a volunteer staffer) the YMCA of the Rockies held its first staff reunion.
I remember meeting lots of smiling alumni who were reconnecting with friends. Some
of those alumni became part of the core support group of the Lula W. Dorsey Museum.
Their memories and stories brought the history of the YMCA of the Rockies to life.
Since then, we have had three more reunions including the latest in June, 2007. During
reunions at both Centers, staff proposed the formation of an Alumni Association. The
idea was met with overwhelming acceptance, including many offers of assistance!
Therefore, to honor the passion and dedication of our alumni who have delivered our
Mission to Y members for the last one-hundred years, the YMCA of the Rockies is
formally announcing the formation of the YMCA of the Rockies Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association is a partnership between the YMCA of the Rockies and
its alumni. We are committed to dedicating the resources necessary to make this
Association a success. We want all of you to get involved in whatever manner you
choose to make this association a reality. I look forward to helping you reconnect
with each other and with the YMCA of the Rockies.
